FORGIVE me if I decline to thank the person who invented “autoplay,” that annoying program responsible for starting videos playing as soon as you open a website. If the unwanted noise annoys you, and you would much rather choose which videos to watch, rather than to have them foisted on you, we have good news, at least for Google Chrome users. Check out “mute site” below.
Can you tell a malicious link from a legitimate one? There are clues to look for and we want to help you recognize bad links before mistakenly clicking on them, in order to keep your computer safe from malware.
Keeping clear of bad links is only one step in Web safety – stopping others from tracking you, either to sell you things, or to steal your information, is an even more important step. Check out what we can do to help protect your privacy with TrackOFF.

Don’t you just love sites that start playing videos as soon as you bring them up? Me too. And sometimes, if you have several tabs open at once it’s hard to know which one the video is coming from. But from today on, as soon as you figure out which one it is, right-click on its tab, and then click on “mute site.” Ahh, the sweet sound of silence.

If we’ve done our job well, you avoid clicking on unfamiliar links, or links that arrive in emails from unknown sources. Did you know that suspicious links can be tested without clicking on them (and possibly inviting malware into your computer)? Malicious links have certain features in common, such as the “%” character, so recognizing these common features can help keep you safe while you browse the Web.

While you’re browsing, do you sometimes feel like you’re being followed? You are! How else would websites know that you’re looking for white summer curtains and subscription kitty litter? Today’s Web is all about tracking – either for legitimate purposes such as pitching products to you (ads nauseum), or to steal your identity.
Although we recommend having a strong antivirus program running at all times (and can recommend and/or install that for you), antivirus and ad-blockers are not enough to detect tracking threats, remove cookies, etc.
Do you want to rid yourself of being followed, make your family and financial information safer, and prevent identity thieves from finding your personal information? We can help, through a software called TrackOFF.
“TrackOFF is a consumer privacy company that secures your identity online. Its proprietary technology protects you from the persistent and nefarious collection of personal information on the internet. You can use the web knowing your private personal, financial, health and browsing data are safe from hackers and data miners.”
